Subject: Excellence and Recognition Awards
Meeting Date: February 4, 2002
On January 3, 2002 Rob Cherot, Kirk Pederson and Ray Junk Jr. responded to a 911 call
concerning a woman who was having a heart attack at Stream International. Co-workers
at Stream, Tiny Wegner, Frank Smith and Mike Anderson International helped save
Milah Gano's life by performing CPR until the Kalispell Fire Department crew arrived.
The Paramedics took over when they arrived on scene and found the patient to be without
a pulse. Following protocol, they shocked the patient several times. The patient
developed a pulse and was soon able to respond verbally. The incident had a happy
ending due to the quick thinking of Wegner, Smith and Anderson, and the prompt support
of Cherot, Pederson and Junk.
Recommendation: The City Council recognize Paramedics Rob Cherot, Kirk
Pederson and Raymond Junk, Jr., along with citizens Tiny Wegner, Frank Smith and
Mike Anderson.
