.PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, theuse of credit has become increasingly important to the American consumer and to the nation's
economy, evidenced by the fact that consumer installment purchases have more than doubled in the past decade; and
WHEREAS, the country's economic health rests in part on the consumer's wise use of credit and good money
management; and
WHEREAS, the prompt payment of bills will help prevent higher prices and curb inflation, as well as give the
consumer peace of mind and the right to use credit; and
WHEREAS, those in the credit industry are also celebrating National Credit Education Week with emphasis upon
the theme, "Strong Credit, Strong America" and',
WHEREAS, Flathead Valley CPI ofKalispell coopeja��International
with ACA Inteational -the Association of Credit

and Collection Professionals -is sponsoring National Credit ddeatidnWeek, an educational program designed to help
consumers use credit with caution, spend money wisely pay y, b fllspromptly;
NOW, THEREFORE, 1, Pamela B. Kennedy, Mayor of the City of Kalispell, do hereby proclaim the period of i'
April 15-20 as
NATIONAL CREDIT EDUCATION WEEK

and do urge all citizens of the State to participate in the educational and public service activities connected with this
annual observance.
