SUBJECT: Stop signs

BACKGROUND: We have recommended the installation of a number of stop signs
to better clarify who has the right-of-way at specific intersections. We feel the
installation of these signs is essential to maintain traffic safety at these sites. We
recommend stop sign installations as follows:
• On Condor at Kelly Road
• Mallard at Kelly Road
® Eagle at Kelly Road
• South Woodland at Kelly Road
RECOMMENDATIONS: The council should adopt a resolution supporting these
installations.
FISCAL EFFECTS: None.

RESOLUTION NO. 4833
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PLACEMENT OF STOP SIGNS AT THE STREETS
INTERSECTING KELLY ROAD AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. That vehicles, including motor vehicles, bicycles, or other vehicles shall be
required to stop in the North bound lanes at the following locations:
Condor Drive at Kelly Road
Eagle Drive at Kelly Road
South Woodland Drive at Kelly Road
Mallard Drive at Kelly Road
SECTION 11. The Chief of Police is authorized and directed to erect stop signs at the above
locations.
SECTION 111. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage by the
City Council and approval by the Mayor.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL AND SIGNED BY THE MAYOR OF THE
CITY OF KALISPELL, THIS 15TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 2003.
