MEETING DATE: Monday, September 20, 2004 — Regular Meeting
BACKGROUND: The Council offered the position of City Manager to James
Patrick, having discussed the general terms of the contract with him. In the days
that followed.. I prepared a written contract through continuing communications
with Mr. Patrick and Mayor Kennedy. Mr. Patrick has agreed to the terms of the
employment contract now before Council.
RECOMMENDATION: Council should discuss the contract and if it is found to be
acceptable, give the Mayor the authority to execute it in behalf of Council.
FISCAL EFFECTS: The costs of the proposed contract are within the same
parameters as budgeted for the previous City Manager employment contract.
