Mr. Garner,
I respectfully request that Officer Steve Hoover be confirmed as a patrol officer
for the Kalispell Police Department. Officer Hoover has successfully completed his one
year probationary period effective September 16, 2004.
Officer Hoover came to us with seven years of experience with the Highway
Patrol and as a veteran of the Untied States Navy. Steve is a graduate ofPolson High
School and has studied at the Salish and Kootenai College. Officer Hoover has nearly
300 hours of certified training and is a graduate of the Montana State Law Enforcement
Academy.
Steve is currently assigned to the patrol division and he has established himself as
a compassionate, committed and energetic team player. Officer Hoover is dedicated to
professional excellence through the department's shared values of honesty, integrity,
professional competence, compassion, and positive leadership. He makes everyone
around him better and he is constantly challenging himself to improve.
Steve has continually demonstrated through his actions, deeds and words that he
understands that his badge is a symbol of public trust and his personal standards demand
he maintains that confidence. We are fortunate to have Officer Hoover on our team and
it is with great pride that I extend my highest recommendation to Officer Hoover for
confirmation by the City Council.
Respectfully submitted,
