Hansz, P.E., Director of Public Works SUBJECT: Award Bid —'/4 Ton 4X4 Pick-up Trucks MEETING DATE: November IS, 2004 BACKGROUND: The current budget includes funds for the purchase of three 3/4 tan 4X4 pick-up trucks. One truck will replace a vehicle in the Solid Waste Division and two trucks will be replaced in the Wastewater treatment Division. Bids were solicited from local dealers. In addition, the State motor pool bid was obtained for the same vehicle. A comparison of all four bids is attached and shows the State bid of $17,645.00, submitted by Bennett Motors in Great Falls to be $2,540.85 less, per vehicle, than the next low bid from Eisinger Motors of Kalispell. RECOMMENDATION: Award bid to supply three 4X4 pick-up trucks to Bennett Motors of Great Falls based on the bid of $17,645 M. ACTION REQUESTED: AT CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF NOVEMBER 15 A MOTION TO AWARD THE BID FOR THREE 4x4 PICK-UP TRUCKS TO BENtVETT MOTORS OF GREAT FALLS FISCAL EFFECTS: Expenditure of budgeted funds totaling $17,645.00 from the Solid Waste Fund and $35,290.00 from the Wastewater Treatment Fund. The Wastewater Treatment budget includes an appropriation of $48,000 for the purchase of two (2) pickups, a V-plow, and a lift gate (to be fitted on one of the pickups). The Solid Waste budget includes an appropriation of $27,500 for the purchase of (1) one pickup, a V-plow, and lift gate.
