Postpone Acceptance of Proposal for Comprehensive Plan - Fire Station 62Randy Brodehl - Fire Chief Jim Stewart - Assistant Chief/Fire Marshal Dee McCluskey --- Assistant Chief/Operations REPORT Honorable Mayor and City Council FROM Randy Brodehl, Fire Chief 312 First Avenue East Kalispell, Montana 59901 (406)758-7760 FAX: (406) 758-7952 SUBJECT North Fire Station Requests for Proposals/Qualifications MEETING DATE March 1, 2004 BACKGROUND: On February 26Ih, Kalispell Fire Department received proposals and qualifications from project development teams, for the north fire station, Station 62. Montana Code annotated requires that proposals be approved by the Council at the next Council meeting, unless the decision is formally postponed during that meeting. The proposals are very thorough, and require a complete review of the documents before selection of a team. Between one and three teams will be selected to present to the Council during a workshop. Because of this lengthy process, it may not be in the best interest of the Council to make a selection before a thorough review has been completed. RECOMMENDATIONS: Council postpones the proposal selection until March 15`h, 2004, review presentations on March 81, 2004 during a council workshop, and make a decision alter reviewing recommendations developed by the Kalispell Fire Department.
