SUBJECT North Fire Station Requests for Proposals/Qualifications
MEETING DATE March 1, 2004
BACKGROUND: On February 26Ih, Kalispell Fire Department received proposals and
qualifications from project development teams, for the north fire station, Station 62. Montana Code
annotated requires that proposals be approved by the Council at the next Council meeting, unless the
decision is formally postponed during that meeting. The proposals are very thorough, and require a
complete review of the documents before selection of a team. Between one and three teams will be
selected to present to the Council during a workshop. Because of this lengthy process, it may not be
in the best interest of the Council to make a selection before a thorough review has been completed.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Council postpones the proposal selection until March 15`h, 2004, review
presentations on March 81, 2004 during a council workshop, and make a decision alter reviewing
recommendations developed by the Kalispell Fire Department.
FISCAL EFFECTS: None
ALTERNATIVES: As recommended by Council
Respectfully submitted,
Fire Chief
