Re: Water Main and Hydrant Materials Bid
The 2003/2004 water budget includes an appropriation of $100,000 for
Phase H of our fire hydrant installation program. On March 17, 2004 the City
received two bids for the materials needed for the project. The bids are
summarized below:
Hughes Supply, Inc. $91,625
Northwest Pipe Fittings, Inc. $92,168
Hughes Supply, Inc. and Northwest Pipe Fittings, Inc. are the two local
suppliers for Kalispell. The bids were extremely close, something we like to
see, and both bidders met all the specification requirements. It is my
recommendation that the bid for the water main and hydrant materials be
awarded to the lowest bidder, which is Hughes Supply, Inc.
