SUBJECT* Stop Sign at 8h Avenue West and Street West.
MEETINQ ATE October 31 2005
BACKGROUND: At the request of residents in the area of 8th.venue West and
Street a traffic t was conducted to dete=*ne the need for traffic control devices at
that intersection. The study indicates that a two-way stop sign is wanted on 8h
Avenue West at 5 Street. The signs will stop now and stb.d traffic. This
configuration should clarify the right-of-way at that uncontrolled intersection.
RECOMMENDATIONS: The council should adopt a resolution requ4
inngstop signs
on e Avenue West .t 5th Street.

RESOLUTION APPROVING ' 14E PLACEMENT of STOP SIGNS ON 8TH AVENUE
WEST AT ITS INTERSECTION WITH 5TH STREET WEST AND DECLARING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of THE CITY of KALISPELL AS FOLLOWS,
SECTION 1. That vehicles, including motor vehicles, bicycles, or other vehicles shall be
required to stop in the north and south bound lanes of 8th►..v n e blest at its
intersection with 5th Street West.
SECTION 11. The Chief of Police is authorized and directed to erect stop signs at the above
location.
SECTION 111. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage by the
City Council and approval by the Mayor.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL. AND SIGNED BY THE MAYOR OF THE
CITY OF KA ISPELL, THIS 3RD DAY OF OCTOBER, 2005.
