Re: Water Main, Service Line, and Hydrant Materials Bid
Analysis
The fiscal year 2004/2005 Water budget includes appropriations of
$160,000.00 for the final phase of the fire hydrant installation program,
as well as water main and service line materials.
Two bids were received by the due date and opened February 14, 2005.
Hughes Supply, Inc. $92,829.05
Northwest Pipe Fitting, Inc. $93,924.40
Hughes Supply, Inc. and Northwest Pipe Fittings, Inc. are the local
suppliers for Kalispell and both met all the specification requirements.
These are the same two bidders we had last year, and like last year their
bids are extremely close.
Due to the fact that both are qualified, responsible bids, I recommend
that the bid for the Water Main, Service Line, and Hydrants Materials be
awarded to Hughes Supply, Inc., the lowest bidder.
