Hansz, P.E., Director of Public Works SUBJECT.- Ard Bid — 4 'on 4X4 Pick-up Trucks MEET]ING DATE: December 5,2005 BACKGROUND: The current budget includes funds for the purchase of two ton 4X4 pick -op trucks. One truck will replace a vehicle in the Sever Maintenance Division and one truck will be replaced in the Water Maintenance Division. Bids were solicited from local area dealers and three responded. In addition, the State motor pool bid was obtained for the same vehicle. A comparison of all bids is attached and shows the State bid of $17,821.00, submitted by Bennett Motors in Great .falls to b $77.00 less, per chie]e, than th e next low bid from Eisinger Motors of Kal ispel1. In most eases staff would recommend acceptance of the low bid. However, in view of the very small difference In price, staff believes that dealing with the local business offers an advantage that offsets the very minor cost difference. RECOMMENDATION: Award bid to supply two 4.X4 pick-up trucks to.Eisinger Motors of Kalispell based on their bid of $17,898.00.
