SUBJECT: Business Improvement District Levy & Assessments
MEETING DATE: August 15, 2005
BACKGROUND: The resolution is adopted annually to provide a levy to fund the cost
of the Business Improvement District of the City of Kalispell.
The district has requested the same levy as last year.
The mill levy is 37.5 mills.
The assessment is $ .015 per square foot
RECOMMENDATION: Adoption of resolution setting the levy and assessment
FISCAL EFFECTS: The BID anticipates receiving $75,078 in revenue to be used for the
costs associated with the Downtown Business Improvement District.

RESOLUTION NO.5045
A RESOLUTION MAKING THE ANNUAL TAX LEVY FOR THE BID (Business
Improvement District) OF KALISPELL, MONTANA, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2005-2006
and LEVYING AN ASSESSMENT FOR THE BID FOR FISCAL 2005-2006.
WHEREAS, the assessment cost ofthe Business District for the fiscal year 2005-2006 is estimated
to be $23,557.00, and the levy revenue will generate $45,738 for a total of $69,295,
WHEREAS, at a public hearing held on the 18th day of July, 2005, the City Council did consider
all objections made to said estimates and to the basis of levy and assessments for
payment for said costs (included as part of the City of Kalispell budget).
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. That there is hereby levied upon each and every dollar of the taxable
valuation of the Business Improvement District of Kalispell,
Montana, for the fiscal year 2005-2006, the following levy:

SECTION II. That there is hereby levied upon each and every dollar of the taxable
valuation of the City of Kalispell, Montana, for the fiscal year 2005-2006, the
levy for the said funds to be collected and administered by Flathead County:
