Patrick, City Manager SUBJECT: 2006 Business Improvement District budget MEETING DATE: August 15, 2005 BACKGROUND: The annual appropriations for the Business Improvement District budget are presented for Council consideration. The budget requested is $75,078. Note: The City Finance Director increased this budget in order to present a "budget remaining„ carryover less the 50% of appropriations as required by statute. The Preliminary budget request was $71,578. This statute is to prevent the accumulation of funds. We may receive an audit comment for 2005 as our ending cash balance was in excess of 50% of appropriations. The auditors may consider the law suit an extenuating circumstance. However, upon settling of the suit, funds need to be spent if they are levied. RECOMMENDATION: Adoption of Resolution FISCAL EFFECTS: $75,078 s Amy H.
