Lower Level Conference Room
201 First Avenue East
ATTENDING:
Mike Baker, Director of Parks & Recreation Mark Crowley, Construction Manager
Chad Fincher, Parks Superintendent Rick Parker, Bldg. Dept. Inspector
Wade Rademacher, Police Lieutenant P.J. Sorensen, Chairman
Kathy Kuhlin, Recording Secretary
GUESTS: Toby McIntosh with Jackola Engineering.
HEAR THE PUBLIC: None.
PERFORMANCE BOND REMINDERS: None.
OLD BUSINESS: School District 5 Central Kitchen — 205 Northwest Lane. This is a 5,400 sq.
ft. single -story, kitchen -only building. The food will be delivered out to the various schools. There
are two parcels there, and the building appears to be straddling the two. The two parcels together
would be approximately 210' x 430'. Sorensen has met with Tom Heinecke on this project, and they
may do some boundary line adjustments. They are working on sidewalk options also.
NEW BUSINESS: The Summit — 205 Sunnyview; preliminary comments for parking lot expansion.
Toby McIntosh presented the project to the committee. They will be fencing the area where children
from The Summit's Sparks program can do outside activities. They will plant grass seed in this area,
which will need to be irrigated. They are proposing a 6' fence along the highway and 4' elsewhere.
The 6' portion will have to be outside of the front setback area (15 feet). They are proposing using
chain link fencing, and Baker suggested they use the dark green, coated chain link type fence. The
entrance to this fenced area was discussed. The pedestrian path/sidewalk was discussed. It will need
to be extended along with boulevard to the right-of-way. Parks will begin construction on their
portion of the pedestrian path along Highway 93 within 30 days, which will go down Meridian Road,
and this project will intersect this. Parks will be putting in 7' wide sidewalks and is getting bids for
both asphalt and concrete, but is leaning toward concrete. Baker suggested they follow suit with their
portion of the sidewalk. This project will need to have a 6 to 8 foot boulevard area. The crosswalk
was discussed. On -site stormwater infrastructure is planned. The corner on Meridian was discussed
in depth. This project will have 9' x 20' parking spaces and add on an additional handicapped space.
McIntosh will discuss lighting options with The Summit. They will have "right in, right out" access
only. They may put in a pork chop at the end of their parking lot to encourage people to only turn
right. There is a 5% landscaping requirement and they will need to have a landscaping plan. Baker
expressed the importance of connectivity with the other trees along the highway that are part of the
hospital areas.

Event permit request for this will be making its way through the various departments in the City for
their approval.

their building permit, and they are ready to dig their foundation. Crowley will look into where this
project stands with Public Works.
