]BACKGROUND: A request was made from an area resident to study the intersection
Street East and 'hAvenue East for the purpose of determiningthe need for traffic
controls. The 'intersection is currently contr e . Public Works has completed a
traffic study that recommends stop signs on 1'hAvenue at 'h St `eet for north and
southbound trade. Subsequently the report also recommends stop signs on 7th Street
East at e Avenue for east and westbound traffic to assist in controlling traffic patterns '
the area. At the September ' Council Meeting additional analysis Ave East and
�h Street was requested. The resolution was tabled ending that analysis. The related
traffic study will not be completed until October t .
RECOMMENDATIONS: Council should table this resolution until October 16 1h
meeting.

RESOLUTION NO, 5148
A. RESOLUTIONAPPROVING THE PLACEMENT of STOP SIGNS ON 7TH STREET
EAST AT ITS INTERSECTION WITH 6TH .AVENUE EAST AND 7TH AVENUE EAST
AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of THE CITY OF KALISPELL AS FOLLOWS.
SECTION 1. That vehicles, including motor vehicles, bicycles, or other vehicles shall be
required to stop on 7th Street East at its intersection with 6th Avenue East
and 7th Avenue East.
SECTION 11. The Chief of Police is autborized and directed to erect stop signs at the above
locations.
SECTION Ill. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage by the
City Council and approval by the Mayor.
