SUBJECT: Postponement of Action on Bids for the Wells Fargo/City
Hall Remodel
MEETING DATE: Monday, November 14, 2006 — Regular Meeting
BACKGROUND: The Wells Fargo/City Hall Remodel bid opening occurred on
November 9, 2006 at which point the City received bids ranging from $1,210,000 to
$1,364,000. Pursuant to state law, the City is required to have these bids placed on
the agenda at the next regularly scheduled Council meeting. The City is allowed to
postpone (table) action on the bids for good cause. In this case, the architect would
like the opportunity to analyze the bids further and the city staff needs some
additional time to prepare a package on the financing portion of the transaction.
The city also needs to add this matter on to the budget amendment process for
which there will be a public hearing on December 4, 2006.
RECOMMENDATION: The Council should move to table the matter until the next
regularly scheduled Council meeting on December 4, 2006. At that time, the City's
architect will have a complete analysis and recommendation for the acceptance of
the bids and the city staff shall have a recommendation regarding the financing of
the transaction.
FISCAL EFFECTS: None at this time.
Respectfully submitted,
r
