SUBJECT: Award Bid — Low -Profile Tandem Dump Truck
MEETING BATE: October 2, 2006
BACKGROUND: The current Water enterprise fund budget includes an appropriation of $112,000.00
for the purchase of a replacement low -profile tandem dump truck. Specifications were developed and bids
were requested by October 24, 2006. A single bid was received from IState Truck Center of Great Falls.
IState Truck Center $94,265.00
The bid was in order with two exceptions taken by the bidder regarding delivery date and warranty
service. Delivery was requested in 120 days. This vehicle can be delivered in 260 days. The longer
delivery time does not cause a problem; the bidder's exception satisfactory. warranty service was
required from the supplier within a 15 mile radius of Kalispell. IState is located in Great Falls and will
sub --contract warranty repairs to qualified repair facilities in the area. This exception is satisfactory.
The bid is $17,735.00 less than budgeted. Staff recommends award to IState Truck Center
