Highlights of monthly activity for the operating divisions of the Public Works
Department for the month of March 2006 are as follows:

• ContInued FY 06/07 budgetdevelopment and met will leads of operating divisi.ons to
review proposed budgets.
• Met with representatives of Lakeside 'W &S to discuss potential future opho s for service
partnerships.
• .met with developer and engineer for Blue Heron to discuss bike path location issues
along Three Mile nk-,e.
Met with Evergreen Disposal to discuss potential for partnering to offer community waste
recycling.
PartIcipated in. county long range planning meeting related to wastewater issues.
• Met with Cl-ty Attorney and representatives for the Stahlberg property to discuss sto.
sewer casement.
• .met with engineers from. WG.M Group to discuss the variOUS ways water and sewer
services can be provided to expanding areas near the City and how this was handled 'i .

• Continued conversations and meetings with. DEQ rcgard-I.Tia Flathead TMD . Met with
senior staff to establish working relationship for this effort.

• Conducted a pre -construction meeting for Old School Station and Wes vie v Estates
water well. project.
• Met with School Disffict 5 to discuss options for irrigation water supply,

equipment located on the City pater tower.
ENGINEERING DIVISION continued.. .
+ Met with DEQ, Developer, and Engineers on March 6 Ih regarding croslon and
sedimentation. into area creeks. Made site visit to construction s'tes at Bowser Creek,
Blue Heron, Cottonwood Park, Lone Pine, and Northland to get reed back from the DEQ
regarding erosl.on/sediment control from the construction store water.
* Wrote letters to Cottonwood Park, Blue Heron Estates, Leisure Heights, Ashley Park, and
Empire Estates developers regarding erosion control. issues and City Standards.
• Post construction training for MS4 per -nit held at the WW .
• Reviewed Northridge drainage report.
• Reviewed revised dral.nage design for 30.Meridian Court.
Reviewed drainage design for Serenity Drive Addition.
Developed sample site location and map for MS4 permit pre-screen sample test to 'be
used for storm water monitoring site se ectio .
Reviewed SWPPP for Lone Pine Development.
Developed cost estimates and bid documents to replace forced main. at Lift Station 3.
Received cost estimate for directlonal boring. Awaiting additional cost estimate data .for
pipe bursting option.

• Met with stakeholders regarding the Meridian Road detour from Two Mile n' e to
Three Mile Drive.
• Met with MDR` and contractor regarding water and sewer issues on the Men' than Road
reconstruction project.
• Completed S C calculations for North west Care remodel, Ka..m d Dent building
remodel., and the Byrd Commercial Building.
• Pre-screened MS4 sample site field visit with Dan Ham from MDT. Determined elg t
(8) sample sites will work for the pre-screen sampling analysis.
Participated in pre -construction meeting for Empire Estates new phase.
Participated in and erosion and sediment control. conference In Missoula.
• Pre-screened MS4 sample site map and sampling method review.
• Initiated the rehabilitation and repair of the Buffalo Hill Golf Course bridge.
• Successfully completed Stornwater Wet .and training course in Billings.
• Reviewed Daley Field Subdivision drainage design.
• Participated in. regular site review meetings held each Tbursday.

• Continued video and jet cleaning sever lines Monday through Thursday.
• Performed weekly maintenance of twenty-slx fit stations each. Friday.

SOLID WASTEDIVISION'
• Delivered 10 containers to new customers: 0-90 gallon, -1 oo gallop., o- 00 gallop.,

• Repaired 7 containers: 2— 90 gallon., - 100 gallon, 5— 300 gallon, o-- 400 gallon and
responded to 7 violations.
Continued weekly garbage service and alley cleanup.

• Contlinued daily monitoring of all pump stations and routine maintenance on all pumps,

• Contractors started drilling " test well at old School well site.
