SUBJECT: Award Bid - Meridian Trail Pocket Park (Postponed December 4)
MEETING DATE: December 18, 2006 .
BACKGROUND: Two responsive bids were received at the bid opening for the Meridian
Trail Pocket Park — I AL STPE 6799 (26) on November 28, 2006. Doepker Landscaping of
Kalispell submitted a bid for $22,670.00, and Northwest Landscaping of Kalispell submitted a
bid of $37,907.61. This project includes installation and construction of a pocket park: located at
the Kalispell Youth Athletic Complex and was a part of the original project for the IYAC #3
Meridian Connector Trail. The pocket park was deleted from the original contract as the federal
appropriation was short of the necessary funds, however, federal funds are now available to
complete this project.
R.ECOMMENDATION: Award the bid for the Meridian Trail Pocket Park to Doepker .
Landscaping in the amount of $22,670.
FISCAL EFFECTS: Budgeted item in FY O6/07 at Federal contribution of 86.58% ($19,628)
with local match of 13.42% ($3,042).
ALTERNATIVES: None at this time.
