Patrick, City Manager SUBJECT: 2008 Budget Amendment ----- Special Street Maintenance Fund MEETING DATE: May 19, 2008 BACKGROUND: City staff is requesting the City Council amend the Street Maintenance Budget by $140,000 for budget authority to enter into a contract for the Northridge Drive Overlay project. The bid specs are prepared and will not be offered for bid until budget approval. This is the first year the City has collected funds for the pavement replacement program. Budget authority is for the amount of the funds collected — the bid aamont is unknown at this time. Adopt resolution amending the budget. James H. Patrick City Manager Report compiled: May 14, 2008 -RESOLUTION NO.5281 A► RESOLUTION TO AMEND THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATIONS OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL, MONTANA, AS SET FORTH IN THE 2007-2008 BUDGET ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL. WHEREAS, on August 20, 2007, the City Council adopted Resolution 5223 adopting the annual appropriations of the City of Kalispell for fiscal year 2007--2008; and WHEREAS, in the budget adopted by the City of Kalispell for the 2007-2008 fiscal year, certain detailed and itemized estimates of expenditures have proven inaccurate in the operation of said Funds for the 2007-2008 fiscal year, and WHEREAS, at a public hearing held on May 19, 2008, the City Council did consider all objections made to said budget amendments. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of THE CITY OF KALISPELL AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. Amendments to the 2007-2008 fiscal budget as follows: #935 Street Maintenance Budget $140,000 Pavement Replacement Program — increase budget to award contract for street overlays to be paid out of funds collected for pavement replacement. The contract will provide overlays for the Northridge Drive overlay Project. This is the first project to utilize the pavement replacement program. funding. SECTION II. That on May 19, 2008 at 7:00 P.M., the City Council authorized and directed the Finance Director to increase the appropriations. PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL AND SIGNED BY THE MAYOR.
