To: Kalispell City Council
Purpose: Letter of intent for appointment to the City Planning Board
My name is Chad Graham. My family has been part of the Flathead Valley for 5 generations. I was raised in the city of
Kalispell and have a very special connection with the geographic area and its people. I love the Flathead Valley and in
particular Kalispell. This community has offered me and my family an exceptional quality of life and because of this I wish
to apply for the appointment to the city planning board. My intentions are to become entwined with the community and to be
more involved in its government affairs.
I have an Associate of Applied Technologies degree, focused on mechanical drafting from Universal Technical Institute in
Phoenix, Arizona. After graduating I worked for two civil engineering firms, one in Kalispell and one in Butte. I have
utilized and continue to utilize my specialized training for architectural applications and building purposes.
After working at the engineering firm, I worked at Semitool for three years. After 9/11 I was laid off and then started my own
construction business, Graham Design And Construction. I have been in the construction business for almost six years and
have enjoyed every minute of it. I have built homes all around the Flathead and pride myself on building homes for people
that would not be able to afford a quality house of their own. Beyond my passion for my career I have a passion for our
community. I believe there is something else for me to be a part of. Last year I became a member of the National Write Your
Congressman and continue being a part of that organization.
I am active in my church and have found great reward in short term mission trips to Mexico. I have been on six short term
mission trips and will be going again later this year. I am now serving as the construction manager for the Mexico mission
project. We are building a school and boarding house for the Tarahumara Indian children.
I feel that because my family has been in the Flathead for 5 generations, my education, my work experience, my involvement
in various community activities and mission trips that I can bring a solid perspective to the board and be a positive,
hardworking member for the city of Kalispell. Please consider me for this position.
Thank you,
Chad Graham

Dear Mayor Kennedy:
After serving six years on the Kalispell City Planning
Board, I have decided not to apply for another term.
However I understand that there have been no applicants, and
would be willing to remain on the board until a replacement is
found.
Yours truly,
Richard Hull.
