Hansz, P.E., Director of Public Works SUBJECT: Award Bid-2009 Chipseal Project MEETING DATE: June 1, 2009 BACKGROUND: A single bid of $148,878.80 was received for the 2009 Chipseal Project from Pavement Maintenance Solutions of Columbia Falls. The current Gas Tax Fund budget includes $151,695.00 for this project, and the engineer's estimate was $150,000.00. The project will provide Chipseal for ten streets as shown on the attached listing that accompanies the Project Manager's bid analysis. The bid was in order and the recommendation is to award to Pavement Maintenance Solutions. ACTION REQUESTED: AT CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF JUNE 1', MOTION TO AWARD THE BID FOR THE 2009 CHISPEAL PROJECT TO PAVEMENT MAINTENANCE SOLUTIONS OF COLUMBIA FALLS. One bid was received for the 2009 Chip Seal Project. The bid was received from Pavement Maintenance Solutions from Columbia Falls, Montana. The bid is in order and contained the required Bid Bond. The bid analysis is as follows: CONTRACTOR CHIP SEAL TRAFFIC CONTROL TOTAL BID PAVEMENT MAINTENANCE SOLUTIONS $142,653.80 $6,225.00 $148,878.80 The current budget contains $151,695.00 for Chip Seal Operations. The Engineers estimate for the 2009 Chip Seal Project is $150,000.00, Pavement Maintenance Solutions bid price is $1121.00 below the Engineers estimate for the project. Pavement Maintenance Solutions has completed the City Chip Seal Projects since 2006 and has consistently provided a satisfactory product.
