SUBJECT: Award Bid5500 Flatbed Truck with Moist and Plow
MEETING DATE: January 20, 2009
BACKGROUND: one bid was received to supply a 5500 flatbed 4WD truck with hoist and plow to the
Public Works Department. The single bid of $57,118.00 for this vehicle was received from DeMarois
GMC in Missoula. The bid analysis is attached.
Budget for this vehicle is $65,000.00. Therefore, it is recommended to award the bid to DeMarois
GMC.
ACTION REQUESTED: AT CITY COUNCIL MEE'T'ING OF JANUARY 20TH, MOTION
TO AWARD OF THE BID FOR A 5504 FLATBED 4WD TRUCK WITH MOIST AND
PLOW TO DEMA.ROIS GMC OF MISSOULA.
FISCAL EFFECTS: Total expenditure of $57,118.00, from. the 2008/2009 Special Street budget.

Recommendation
One bid for the 5500 Regular Cab 4WD vehicle including Flatbed, Hoist, and Snowplow was
received. The bid was received from. DeMarois Buick - GMC located in Missoula, Montana. The
result of the bid is as follows:

The bid from DeMarois Buick. - GMC contained the required Bid Bondy is complete and in order.
The 2008 GMC C5500 vehicle is on DeMarois Buick -- GMC lot in Missoula. The vehicle will
be transported to Kois Brothers Equipment in Great Falls for the installation of the Flatbed,
Hoist, and Snowplow. The Snowplow is an excellent used Fisher Minute Mount II unit. The
Snowplow was checked out by personnel of the Great Falls Public works Staff as a favor to the
City of Kalispell. They are satisfied the plow will perform as new.
A total of $651,000.00 is available in the 2008/2009 FY Special Street Public works budget for
this piece of equipment.
The low bidder, DeMarois Buick-GMC, has met all of the specifications and requirements called
for in the Bidding Documents.
I recommend the bid for the 5500 regular Cab 4WD vehicle including Flatbed, Hoist, and
Snowplow be awarded to DeMarois Buick--GMC in the amount of $57,118.00.
