Subject: Bid for Solid Waste compact tractor
Bids were solicited from local vendors for a compact tractor to perform maintenance and
clean-up on the narrow City alleys. Bids were due by 2:30 PM December 1,1998. A single
bid was received by the deadline from Triple W Equipment for the specified equipment.
Their bid inclusive of all specified equipment, and including a two year warranty, is
$41,375.00. Budget for this equipment is $46,000.00. This bid reflects a saving from budget "
of $4,625.00. A copy of the bid is attached.
After reviewing the bid, I have determined that it is in conformance with City
requirements, contains the required bid bond, and recommend acceptance of the bid.

Gentlemen:
The Bidder, having examined the specifications with related documents and being
familiar with all the conditions of the proposed equipment including the availability of
materials and labor, hereby proposes to flumish in accordance with these contract
documents, within the time set forth herein, and at the prices stated below.
These prices are to cover all expenses incurred as required to manufacture and deliver, to
the City of Kalispell, the above -mentioned equipment under these documents, of which
this is a part.
The bidder upon receiving a written "Notice of Award" from the City hereby agrees to
proceed with manufacture of a Compact Utility Tractor under this contract to deliver this
Compact Utility Tractor to the City of Kalispell, Montana, within 60 days from the date
of the "Notice of Award".
All accessories listed herein shall be identical to those typically supplied to the dealer by
the original equipment manufacturer and shall be of identical quality and design as those
normally installed on units for sale through normal commercial channels. Units supplied
shall have all the current changes and features offered as standard whether specifically
called for in these specifications or not.
Bidder acknowledges receipt of the following addendum:
The Owner expressly and specifically reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to
negotiate any or all items with the lowest responsible bidder.
The Compact Utility Tractor delivered to the City of Kalispell shall be new in all respects
and meet or exceed the following minimum technical specifications.

in the amount of $4,137.50 dollars,
which the undersigned agrees is to be forfeited to and become the property of the City of
Kalispell, Montana, as liquidated damages, should this proposal be accepted and the
contract awarded to him/her and he/she fails to enter into a contract in the form
prescribed and to furnish the required bond within ten (10) calendar days of "Notice of
Contract Award", but otherwise this bid security shall be returned to the undersigned
upon the signing of a contract and finishing a performance bond in the amount of ten
per cent (10%) of the total bid price.
The performance bond shall be retained by the City of Kalispell for a period of three
(3) months after the delivery date of the unit as a guarantee that all components operate in
accordance with the intended use, as stated within these specifications. The successful
bidder shall make prompt modifications as necessary to bring the unit into conformance
with the intended use. If the unit is operating satisfactorily at the end of the said three
(3) month period, the performance bond will be returned, in full, to the successful bidder.
If the unit is not operating satisfactorily at the end of the three (3) month period, the City
of Kalispell will take any action necessary to bring the unit to a satisfactory
operation/performance level. The bidder will be billed by the City as restitution for the
full amount of expenses incurred to repair and/or modify the unit. The full amount of the
performance bond will be returned to the bidder upon receipt of payment of billing.
Vendor shall indicate and itemize all deviations to the specifications listed herein and
attach same to this proposal.
