Subject: Bid for snow blower
City Council authorized bids for a new snow blower. A single bid was received and is
attached. The unit proposed by Ameri-Tech Equipment Co. is priced at $37,165.00, is
within the amount currently budgeted, and meets City specifications. Public Works has
consulted with users of this equipment and found widespread satisfaction with its
performance and durability.
Based on this assessment, Public Works recommends purchase of this equipment and
requests authorization to enter into a contract to purchase as soon as possible.
Please add this item on the next City Council agenda for their consideration.

Gentlemen:
The Bidder, having examined the specifications with related documents and being
familiar with all the conditions of the proposed equipment including the availability of
materials and labor, hereby proposes to furnish in accordance with these contract
documents, within the time set forth herein, and at the prices stated below.

These prices are to cover all expenses incurred as required to manufacture and deliver,
the City of Kalispell, the above -mentioned equipment under these documents, of whit �•
this is a part.
The bidder upon receiving a written "Notice of Award" from the City hereby agrees to
proceed with manufacture of a 1998 Snow Blower under this contract to deliver this 1
Snow Blower to the City of Kalispell, Montana, within 60 days from, the date of the
"Notice of Award".
All accessories listed herein shall be identical to those typically supplied to the dealer h••
the original equipment manufacturer, and shall be of identical quality and design as t!,
normally installed on units for sale through normal commercial channels. Units sup,
shall have all the current changes and features offered as standard whether specific.

A. ENGINE: Shall be a liquid
cooled turbo charged diesel with a
minimum 125 horse power at 2400
rpm, engine will have safety shut
downs for engine oil pressure and /
engine coolant V
B. SPOUT: To be capable of
truck loading and open casting, spout
sections to have beveled corners and
a contoured back to eliminate plugging,
square cornered spouts are unacceptable.

C. WARRANTY: The manufacture
shall provide a minimum 100%, non -
prorated, parts and Iabor warranty for a
period of one (1) year. Warranty
period will begin at such time that the
City of Kalispell puts the unit into
service. All warranty repair work shall
be accomplished within a 15 mile radius
of the City of Kalispell at no additional

D. MOUNTINGS: Snow blower to
be provided with pin mountings for designated
carrier unit.
