PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the City of Kalispell that one of our life-long, well known 2
personalities, G. George Ostrom, will turn 70 years old on Friday, July 24, 1998; and
WHEREAS, George, who has dedicated his life to the newspaper and radio business, and notwithstanding his
advanced age, continues to simultaneously entertain and inform the citizens of our fair city, despite the constant risk of
public and private ridicule and possible legal action; and
WHEREAS, Georges leadership and personal dedication helped to establish Flathead Valley Community College 1
and a countless number of community programs; and
WHEREAS, George managed to find the only woman in the Flathead Valley, Iris Wilhelm, who could remain
married to him for the past 40 years "10", and
WHEREAS, George is a member of the "Over -the -Hill Gang," a "well -disorganized local group of overly mature µ j 4i.
people" who find themselves on the peaks of Glacier Park every Thursday.
NOW, THEREFORE, 1, Mayor William E. Boharski, Mayor of the City of Kalispell, Montana, proclaim July 24,
