UND: Members of Council expressed an West m li'mifing truck traffic
on Nordifidge Drive and Parkridge Drive west of Sherry Lane. City ordinance 17-48-2
prohibits truck traffic on icertain steets. An amendment to that ordinance has been
submitted to council for their psi derafion.
BECOMMENDATIONS: The council shoWd consider adopting the affached
amendment to the ordinance that limits through truck traffic on Northridge Drive west of
Sherry Lane to Parkridge Drive and Parkridge Drive from Northnidge Drive to Stillwater
Raod.

1196, CODIFIED AS KALISPELL CITY CODE 17-48-2 PROHIBITING 'TRUCKS ON
CERTAIN STREETS AND DECLAR NG AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

SECTION I Kalispell City Ordinances Tos. 741, 907 and 1196, codified as Kalispell
City Code 17-48-2 shall be and is hereby amended at Paragraph B to also prohlbit the
operatton of treks over and along Northridge Drive and Parkridge Drive west of Sherry
Large.
SECTION 11 This ordinance shall be effective thirty days from and after the date
of its final passage and approval.

17-48-2: TRUCKS PROHIBITED ON CERTAIN STREETS.
A. Truck e ined: For the purpose of this Section, a truck is any vehicle designed or operated
for the transportation of property, and whose body weight or whose combined body and load
weight exceed six thousand ,00 . oli .ds.
B. Streets Specified- It shall be unlawful for trucks to be operated over and along Third Avenue
East and Fourth Avenue East, between the intersections of such streets with Second Street
East, and Fourteenth Street East, and over and along all Woodland Avenue and South.
Woodland Drive within the City, and over and along Center Street East between 4th Avenue
and Woodland Avenue', and over and along Ist Avenue East between Center Street and 1 t
Street, and I st Avenue East North between Center Street and. Idaho Street, and over and
along 6th avenue East North. between Idaho Street and Oregon Street, and on Oregon Street
between Main Street and Seventh Avenue east North, and on MIssion Street, Charlotte

C. Exceptions: hIs Section does not prohibit:
1. The operation of trucks upon such streets where necessary to conduct business at a
destination point thereon within the City limits; provided,, that streets upon which such
traffic is permitted are used until reaching the intersection nearest the destination point.
2. The operation of emergency vehicles upon such streets.
3. The operation of trucks owned or operated by the City, publie utilities, any contractor or
material man while engaged in the repair, mai tenance, or construction of streets, street
improvements or utilities within the City.
. The operation of unloaded trucks upon such streets where such trucks are being driven to
the owner or o eratorls premises for storage; provided, that streets upon which siach traffic is
permitted. are used until reaching the intersection nearest the destination point.
D. Designation Required- Such streets above described seal be appropriately designated and
marked as prohibiting truck traffic. (Ord. 741 § § 1- 4; amd. Ord. 907 § 1; Card. 1196 § 1)
