Subject: 1998 overlay project
Bids for this project were opened April 9, 1998. Bids were received from A-1 Paving and
Nupac. Tabulation of the bids is attached. A-1 Paving's bid of $278,110.00 is low bid.
Total funds available in this year for overlays and chipseal is $389,327.00 comprised of
$355,000.00 of current FY budget, $14,981.00 of FEMA reimbursement for repairs to
Northern Lights Boulevard, and $19,346.00 of unspent funds carried over from the prior
year. The amount of this bid when combined with the bid results for the chipseal project is
$371,986.00 which is within the total funds available this year. Therefore, I recommend
acceptance of this bid.
Also attached are copies of the FY 1998 proposed project list originally included with the
budget. We are reasonably confident that all the streets shown on these lists can be done
with the project funds available.
