8. PECDD Building LeaseAgenda - April 6, 1998 AGENDA ITEM 8 - PECDD BUILDING LEASE BACKGROUND/CONSIDERATION: Enclosed is a memo from Larry Gallagher concerning extension of the lease for their office building. A proposed lease agreement is also enclosed. This has been held up due to our hope that a space needs analysis could be completed that would give us some long term solution to our future space plans. However, since this is not done and may not be done for some time we must secure the space that we currently have. RECOMMENDATION: Since we will continue to have a building department no matter what is done with PECDD personnel and we need to continue with storage and meeting facilities, I concur with Mr. Gallagher's recommendation to renew the lease for three (3) years with a two (2) year option to renew. The rent would be adjusted by the CPI-U annually. ACTION REQUIRED: A motion to authorize the City Manager to sign the lease for a three (3) year (two (2) year option) with BALSCO partnership.
