The Combination Sewer /Storm Cleaning and Vacuum Truck will replace one inoperable vacuum truck stored at the City Maintenance Complex. Newer truck design technology will allow the Sewer Maintenance Division to better maintain sewer and storm water collection mains, with increased operator safety. Two responsive bids were received however, I State Truck Center failed to meet the minimum bid specifications. The bid results are as follows: Bidder Make and Model Bid Schedule 1 Titan Machinery Inc. Vactor 2100 Plus $ 326,849.00 I State Truck Center A uatech F-Series $ 327,883.00 Bid Schedule 1 includes the purchase of a 2013 Combination Sewer/Storm Cleaning and Vacuum Truck. Sufficient funds are available in the 2012-2013 budget for the purchase of a new Combination Sewer/Storm Cleaning and Vacuum Truck. References of the lowest bidder were checked and they were determined to be a responsible corporation, successfully manufacturing, delivering, and warranting equipment within this scope. STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Award Bid Schedule 1 for the 2013 Combination Sewer Cleaning and Vacuum Truck to Titan Machinery Inc. ACTION REQUESTED: At the City Council meeting, motion to award the bid for the 2013 Combination Sewer Cleaning and Vacuum Truck to Titan Machinery Inc. FISCAL EFFECTS: The FY 12/13 Stormwater Fund includes $325,000 for the above mentioned purchase. The purchase price requested is $1,849 over the budgeted amount; however, anticipated savings in several of the Stormwater Fund line items eliminate any need for a budget amendment.
