SUBJECT: Traffic Safety Grant
MEETING DATE: November 15, 1999
BACKGROUND: The Montana Department of Transportation has agreed to provide $10,000.00
to the Kalispell Police Department for additional traffic enforcement on specific holiday dates. There
are no matching funds required and subplanting is prohibited.
RECOMMENDATION: We recommend the City Council accept Traffic Safety Grant #00-03-07-
03 in the amount of $10,000.00 for the purpose of additional traffic enforcement.
FISCAL EFFECTS: $10,000.00 in overtime reimbursements.
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Council.

RESOLUTION NO. 4521
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A MONTANA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION GRANT
TO FUND ADDITIONAL TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT ON SPECIFIC HOLIDAY DATES.
WHEREAS, the Montana Department of Transportation has agreed to
provide $10,000.00 to the Kalispell Police Department for
additional traffic enforcement on specific holiday dates,
and
WHEREAS, the traffic grant requires no matching funds, and
WHEREAS, the grant, in the amount of $10,000.00, would be in the
General Fund 126 for holiday overtime reimbursement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
KALISPELL, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. That the City Council hereby accepts Traffic
Safety Grant #00-03-07-03 from the Montana
Department of Transportation.
