Parks & Recreation Highlights:
• Receive new boom truck for Urban Forestry;
• Pruned 546 trees;
• 103 days of Woodland Lagoon ice, for a record ice skating
year;
• Chip 2,000 Christmas Trees
Parks Department - Ken Bauska, Foreman:
Maintenance Tasks:
• 4.5 miles of sidewalk snow removal, after each snowstorm
• broom ice rink after each snow fall for optimal ice layer;
• plow trails in Woodland Park, Lawrence Park;
• remodel rest room at Depot office;
• design and order annuals for summer gardens;
• order roses for summer rose gardens;
• rehabilitate black swan;
• haul rock to Woodland Park and KYAC;
• feed Woodland Park ducks and restock bird foor container 2 time a week;
• move picnic tables to City Shop for repair or storage;
Urban Forestry - Michael Baker, Urban Forester:
• removal of 15 hazardous Urban Forest trees this winter;
• 45 stump removals and fill in holes (from previous storm damage);
• prune 546 trees;

1. Design for Phase II North Main/Lawrence Park approved by MDT, final
Bridge design done. Environmental review completed. River easement
completed. Cultural review completed. Design of bridge abatement and
GeoTec work in progress. Sample drilling completed. Final design will be
submitted this month.
2. Meridian Trail Connector/Highway 93 to KYAC Trail, approved by MDT.
Consultant selection complete. DBE is set at 0%. Contracts are signed.
Design in progress. First design sent to MDT for review and
recommendations.
• Airport Advisory Board: Awaiting results of F.A.A. Airport Study. Compiling airport
revenue projections and meetings with City Hall, Council, Advisory Board, for
consensus. Progressing billing continues. Completed environmental assessment
RFP. Consultant selected; awaiting contracts and scope of work. Contracts signed,
work started.
