Kukulski, City Manager Ordinance No. 1334 - Amendment to the Salary Ordinance No. 1308, 2 d Reading. MEETING DATE: September 7, 1999 BACK GROUND: Ordinance 1334 is an amendment to Ordinance 1308. All changes are a result of the recently signed contract between the Kalispell Police Association and the City. In order to remain in compliance with State regulations and our new contract with the KPA the attached ordinance needs to be approved by Council. There have been no changes between the first and second readings. RECOMMENDATION: The City Council approve the second reading of Ordinance No. 1334 regarding the 1999 - 2000 Fiscal Year Salary Schedule. FISCAL EFFECTS: The adjustments in salaries in all categories have been included in the proposed 1999 - 2000 fiscal year budget. ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the Council. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The salaries and compensation of City Elected Officers for the period beginning January 1, 1999, are hereby established as set out in §I Exhibit "A", attached hereto and which, by this reference, is made a part hereof. Appropriations shall be made to pay same when due. SECTION II. The salaries and compensation ranges of City Appointed Officers, Supervisors, and Employees for the period beginning July 1, 1999, are hereby established as set out in §§ II, III, IV, and V, Exhibit "A", attached hereto and which, by this reference, is made a part hereof. Appropriations shall be made to pay same when due. SECTION III. Longevity increments and medical insurance premiums shall be paid as provided by law, contract or as directed by the City Council. The annual service anniversary date for all Employees is July 1st of each year; however, an Employee must have at least six months continuous employment by the City before being considered to have one year longevity. SECTION IV. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect as regularly provided by law; salaries and compensation provided for under Sections VI through IX shall be paid commencing as designated in the respective sections. SECTION V. All prior salary and compensation ordinances of the City and any ordinance or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
