MEETING DATE: September 7, 1999
BACKGROUND: Officer Chad Zimmerman has successfully completed his one-year probationary
period and as a result needs to be confirmed by the City Council. Attached is a letter of
recommendation from Chief Garner. Both Officer Zimmerman and Chief Garner will be present for
Tuesday night's confirmation.
RECOMMENDATION: The City Council approve Officer Chad Zimmerman's confirmation.
FISCAL EFFECTS: None.
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the Council.

I respectfully request that Officer Chad Zimmerman be confirmed as a Patrolman for the
Kalispell Police Department. Officer Zimmerman has successfully completed his one-year
probationary period as of September 01, 1999.
Officer Zimmerman is acknowledged as a team player with high moral and ethical standards
and he has proven his commitment to be an outstanding Officer.
Over the last year, Officer Zimmerman has consistently been one of the department's top
statistical performers. He is known by his peers as a competent officer and a consummate
professional. Chad is always working on self-improvement and he is consistently striving for
perfection.
We are fortunate to count Officer Zimmerman amongst our fellowship and I am proud to have
him with this department. I strongly recommend the confirmation of Officer Chad Zimmerman as a
police officer with the City of Kalispell.
