SUBJECT: Woodland Park Dream Trail - CETP - Phase III
MEETING DATE: August 16, 1999
BACK GROUND: Bicycle and pedestrian trails funded with Federal CETP monies,
local match 13.5% by City of Kalispell. Woodland Park Trail is
on the priority list for construction. Just received approval of the
preliminary bid package from Montana Department of
Transportation, Helena, Montana.
The Woodland Park D.R.E.A.M. Trail Phase III consists of a 6
foot wide 3,106 lineal foot long pedestrian walkway through the
north and east-cental portions of Woodland Park. The Trail will
be constructed with an asphalt surface and shall conform to all
applicable State, Federal and A.D.A. Standards.
The Trail will include installation of benches, trash receptacles,
landscaping, safety signage and pavement making.
RECOMMENDATION: Allow bid process to start, to enable a Fall 1999 construction
schedule.
FISCAL EFFECTS: Federally funded with City 13.5% ($8,220.00) local match in the
preliminary budget Total project estimate $61,345.00.
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by Council.
