V Parks & Recreation Highlights:
• Start of Summer Recreation Programs;
• Bruckhauser Pool Opened;
• Seed new soccer fields at KYAC;
• Mother Nature is doing our irrigation;
• Meridian Road Trail Bid Awarded.
ISTEA: Preliminary design of Woodland Park DREAM Phase III
completed. Design for Phase II North Main/Lawrence Park
approved by MDT, Bridge Design underway (relocated site for
river crossing). Meridian Road Walkway bid Award, and
preconstruction meeting set. Work on right-of-way easements
continue. Submitted project for the Meridian Road/Highway 93
to KYAC Trail, to the Montana Department of Transportation.
Youth Athletic Complex: Routine maintenance — soccer fields
seeded; dugout roofs being installed. Paving complete,
backstops and fencing started, grass is growing - total
project = 90 percent complete. Bleachers and player benches
ordered and received. Netting ordered. Meeting with various
organizations on scheduling maintenance of KYAC. Review trail
plan and landscaping plan. Gearing up for play this Spring.
Beaa Park Master Plan: Roadside trail completed, landscaping and
trees being installed.

V Parks Department - Ken Bauska, Foreman:
Maintenance Tasks:
• mow and trim all 24 City Parks and ballfields; drag and
fertilize the Complex fields; install chain link fence, door
and siding at Complex; landscape Lawrence Park for stone
gardens; load and haul trash out of Dry Bridge Park; repair
various ballfield fences; haul benches and picnic tables to
various locations; daily rest room and pavilion cleaning and
garbage removal.
Seasonal Maintenance:
• Bruckhauser Pool startup;
• repair and start numerous irrigation lines;
• fertilize, weed, water, and plant roses (Woodland, City Hall,
Depot and Lions);
• spray herbicides at tennis courts, Northridge, Hawthorne,
Greenbriar;
Urban Forestry - Michael Baker, Urban Forester:
• plant 40 trees in the Urban Forest;
& Recreation Depart. - C. Bohannan & J. Reese,
Recreation Coordinators:
• June is the start of the Summer's busy programs. Enrollment
is above average and revenues are doing well. All programs
are running well, even though the weather has not cooperated.
Following is a breakdown of the participant numbers and hours,
and up -coming events.
• Frequent Monthly Duties: Vouchers, Marketing, Administrative
work, answering phones, assisting participants, taking
registrations.
