Thursday, January 31, 2013
Lower Level Main Conference Room
201 First Avenue East
ATTENDING:
Jeff Clawson, Building Official Sean Conrad, Senior Planner
Dave Dedman, Fire Chief Chad Fincher, Parks Superintendent
Tom Jentz, Planning & Building Director P.J. Sorensen, Chairman
Kathy Kuhlin, Recording Secretary
GUESTS: James Freyholtz, MDT
HEAR THE PUBLIC: None.
PERFORMANCE BOND REMINDERS: None.
OLD BUSINESS: Edgerton School — Whitefish Stage; two-story classroom additions. This is
passed through Site Review subject to Public Works signing off, as they had some water quality
issues regarding the parking lot. Dedman asked if Evergreen Water located where the main is in the
back of the school.
NEW BUSINESS: None.
PLANNING OFFICE ITEMS: Brannigan's CUP — The owners do not want to sprinkler the
whole building, as it will cost $75,000. They would prefer to sprinkler the upstairs casino area.
Without the whole building being sprinklered, they would need to do fire separation walls. If they do
the separation walls, they would still need to sprinkler the bar. They could sprinkler the entire first
floor and the upstairs casino now, and then bond for the rest of the building, with the understanding
that they sprinkler each addition as it is built. Fire is good with the existing hydrant across from the
building, and no additional hydrants will be required.
VW Dealership — Conrad has just sent out the VW PUD and this will be discussed next week.
Drawings will probably come in in May.
OTHER REPORTS - Depot Place - They will be turning it over April 10 or 15'', minus their
landscaping which is scheduled for the end of April or when the weather breaks.
Meridian Trail - 100' wide x +/- 1,600' long piece of land just west of the bypass - has been
transferred to the City by MDT. It comes with the Maintenance Agreement with Rails to Trails on it.
This will be discussed next week.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:15 a.m.
