SUBJECT: Ordinance 1310 (Amending Administrative Code)
MEETING DATE: May 17, 1999
BACKGROUND: Ordinance 1310 requires the City Manager to notify the Mayor and City
Council of the expiration of the terms of Citizen Board and Commission members sixty days prior
to the expiration date. This amendment will provide ample notice to people interested in serving and
should prevent vacancies at board meetings.
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended the City Council pass Ordinance 1310 on second
reading.
FISCAL EFFECTS: None.
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Council.

ORDINANCE NO. 1310
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1166 BY REQUIRING THE CITY
MANAGER TO NOTIFY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF VACANCIES ON BOARDS AND
COMMISSIONS APPOINTED BY THE MAYOR AND APPROVED BY THE COUNCIL.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL, AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. That Article IV, § 2-28, Kalispell City Code
(Ordinance No. 1166) is amended by adding
thereto the following:
g. The City Manager shall notify the Mayor and
City Council of the expiration of terms on
boards and commissions, subject to appointment
by the Mayor and approval by the Council, at
least 60 days prior to the expiration of said
term.
SECTION II. This Ordinance shall take effect 30 days from
and after its final passage by the City
Council.
