Resolution 4456 - Universal Police GrantNOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING RESOLUTION NO. 4456 A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING TO AMEND THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATIONS OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL, MONTANA, AS SET FORTH IN THE 1998-99 BUDGET ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE UNIVERSAL POLICE GRANT PROGRAM. WHEREAS, the annual appropriation for the Universal Police Grant Program is a federal grant received subsequent to the adoption of the Fiscal 1999 budget, in accordance with M.C.A. 7-6-4120, and WHEREAS, the source of funds is federal money passed through the U.S. Department of Justice in the amount of $79,990.00, and WHEREAS, the Kalispell Police Department is a recipient of a Universal Police Grant Program award, and WHEREAS, said grant is revenue accruing to the City not appropriated pursuant to Section 7-6-4271, and constitutes an overall increase in appropriate authority, and WHEREAS, the Universal Police Grant was originally budgeted in the General Fund, and WHEREAS, the appropriate fund would be a Special Revenue fund, 2917 Universal Police Grant Program with the appropriate expenditure line item for additional officers to supplement uniform officers in the Kalispell Police Department. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. That on April 19`h, 1999 at 7:00 o'clock P.M., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Kalispell, the City Council will hold a public hearing on appropriating funds pursuant to the Universal Police Grant Program grant in the amount of $79,990.00 for the purpose of supplementing officers of the Kalispell Police Department. H:\attsect\wp\res\universa1.wpd SECTION II. That notice of the passage of this resolution shall be published pursuant to Section 7-1- 4127, MCA.
