HEAR THE PUBLIC: None.
PERFORMANCE BOND REMINDERS: None.
OLD BUSINESS: None.
NEW BUSINESS: Peterson School — 2nd Street West; classroom and cafeteria addition —
consisting of four classrooms, and the cafeteria/multi-purpose room. We are waiting for a full site
plan. They are working with Wargo on some stormwater issues. There may be some fire issues as
well.
Edgerton School — Whitefish Stage; two-story classroom addition. No plans received yet.
PLANNING OFFICE ITEMS: DePratu VW Dealership — Jentz stated they are working with
Planning, but nothing has been submitted yet. This is going in south of town near Four Corners.
Brannigan's — Referral has been sent out on the casino on the second floor of the Loading Dock
building, and they will be coming in for a CUP on that, as well as a text amendment to do a larger
casino than is currently permitted with the Kalispell zoning ordinance. They will need to obtain a
building permit for this project. They will also have a private dining area upstairs overlooking Depot
Park, a card room, and another bar area.
OTHER REPORTS: Coffee Shop — a lady is looking to convert the former Busy Bee Drycleaners
into a coffee shop. Since this is a change of use, it will come before Site Review. There are parking
spaces in the front that back over the sidewalk near the intersection. Sorensen suggested she do
something to block that off. She asked if she could put up bollards and chains and have some
planters. We would want something more than planters, though, as they can easily be removed.
Another option would be to take out five feet of the asphalt and put in some kind of landscaping.
Either way, we thought that that could actually be a benefit to what she would do there, as she would
have an outdoor seating area in warmer weather. Rademacher suggested we put up a 2-hour parking
sign along the curb to encourage parking in the street after blocking the apron. There may still be
gravel in the back of the lot. Sidewalks would be required of the building owner, with the benefit of
the City's 50150 sidewalk program.
Family Martial Arts — on Center — has caution tape around their sign where it looks like they buried
conduit to that sign. Sorensen recalls it was submitted as an internally lit sign, which was preexisting.
Crowley asked if they are putting improvements in the right-of-way, and will this be addressed.
Cowboy Church — Eisinger has purchased The River Church. The River Church plans to join with
the Cowboy Church (same pastor), and put on an addition along with putting in a horse arena. They
want to come into the City for sewer. They will probably decide that they will need water, also.
Water is on the other side of the highway. Dedman will require a fire hydrant. Discussion was held
regarding various entities that may be interested in bringing water to this side of the highway. The
armory is looking at getting it done this year.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:25 a.m.
