Subject: Rim Drive Heating System Bids, Agenda Reques r March 15'
On March 50' four bids were received for the WWTP clarifier Rim Drive Heating System
improvement project. The engineer's tabulation and recommendation is attached. -
To refresh memories, this is not a currently budgeted item, but it was approved by the City
Council for construction this year based on favorable WWTP Operations budget experience to -
date. We had estimated cost of the project might be upwards of $30,000.00, and this amount is
available due to cost savings elsewhere in the operating budget. The bid is $520.00 below the
engineer's final estimate for the work.
Staff requests City Council approval to award a contract to Garden City Plumbing in the amount
of $27,978.00 for this work.

Re: Rim Drive Heating System
Kalispell Wastewater Treatment Plant
Dear Mr. Hansz
Enclosed is a tabulation of the bids received for the Rim Drive Heating System at the Kalispell
Wastewater Treatment Plant. Bids were taken Friday, March 5" at 2:30PM.
We recommend that the City of Kalispell enter into an agreement with the low bidder, Garden
City Plumbing, for the amount of $27,978.00. The contractor has a good reputation, the bid
contained a proper bid bond, and the bid amount was below our estimate.
