Parks & Recreation Highlights:
• Budgets for Parks and Recreation completed in preliminary
form;
• Pruning and removals of street trees.
ISTEA: Preliminary design of Woodland Park DREAM Phase II1
completed. Design for Phase II North Main/Lawrence Park
approved by MDT, Bridge Design underway (relocated site for
river crossing). Construction plans & specifications 100%
complete for Meridian Road Walkway; submitted plans to MDT.
Work on right-of-way easements continue.
Youth Athletic Complex: Paving complete, backstops and fencing
started, grass is growing - total project � 90 percent
complete. Bleachers and player benches ordered and received.
Netting will be ordered this month. Meeting with various
organizations on scheduling maintenance of KYAC.
Begg Park in Master Plan, met with consultant began work on
overview.

*� Parks Department - Ken Bauska, Foreman:
Maintenance Tasks:
• move furniture for temporary office set-up in Community
Development; install a new urinal at Woodland Park; repair
door at City Hall; repair playground equipment at Peterson
School; attend turf and tree maintenance seminar in Spokane;
haul paper to Pacific Recycling; daily rest room cleaning and
garbage removal.
Seasonal Maintenance:
• Urban Forestry;
• Woodland Park Ice Rink (snow removal, flood and groom several
times);
• Sidewalk snow removal, ice melt;
! Urban Forestry - Michael Baker, Urban Forester:
• prune extensively;
• removal of hazard (15)street trees;
• receive new tree grates, and put appropriate places; Downtown
T.I.D.
• attend two tree seminars; on pruning and maintenance
Recreation Depart. - C. Bohannan & J. Reese,
Recreation Coordinators:
• The Recreation Department had a really busy February. The
Valentine's Daddy Daughter Dance had over 120 people enjoying
great music, food and prizes. Little Kickers Indoor Soccer
started for 90 Kindergartners thru 31"' grade. Men's City League
Basketball finishing up with tournaments starting in March.
• Frequent Monthly Duties: Vouchers, Marketing, Administrative
work, answering phones, assisting participants, taking
registrations.

• Airport Advisory Board: Awaiting results of F.A.A. Airport
Study. D.B.E. Policy approved by Council and submitted to
FAA. Verbal approval received. Airport Manager position
interviewed. Awaiting appointment. Fence specifications
being completed for bid process. Seasonal billing of user
fees.
