Kukulski, City Manager Flathead County Water and Sewer District # 1 /Evergreen Board Appointment January 18, 2000 BACKGROUND: It's been several years since the City of Kalispell has had a representative on the Flathead County Water and Sewer District #1/Evergreen Board of Directors. The City has traditionally had a hard time finding a representative for this board even though we've frequently requested applications in the Daily Inter Lake. A plea for applications was just recently advertised again and we did receive a request for appointment from Connie Leistiko. The Mayor is recommending Leistiko for the seat and will ask for Council's approval. RECOMMENDATION: The City Council appoint Connie Leistiko to be its representative on the Flathead County Water and Sewer District #1/Evergreen Board of Directors for a term of six years. Box 1997 Kalispell, MT 59903 Re: Appointment to Flathead County Water and Sewer District #1/Evergreen Board of Directors Dear Mayor Boharski, I am writing to express my interest in being appointed to the vacant position on the Flathead County Water and Sewer District #1/Evergreen Board of Directors. I am a resident of the City of Kalispell and live in the Buffalo Stage subdivision at 132 Buffalo Stage. This Board appears to be one of importance to the future of this area, and I would be pleased to serve and contribute to the planning and decision -making process. My experience in volunteer positions includes past service as a member of the Arthritis Foundation Board of Trustees for Northeastern Ohio; Chair of a United Way Allocation Committee in Akron, Ohio; Member of the Board of AAUW in Ohio and Montana; Member of the Advisory Committee for the CASA for Kids (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Kalispell; President and member of the Board of Trustees for the Buffalo Stage Homeowners' Association; and a number of others. My educational background includes both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in English Education from Florida State University and a Juris Doctorate from The University of Akron. My professional background is that of an educator, administrator of a law school and practicing attorney. I was previously licensed to practice law in Ohio and am currently licensed in Montana.
