1. Ordinance 1348 - 2nd Reading - Two-way Traffic on 1st Alley Westv4gv ampp 1

REPORT TO:
FROM:
SUBJECT:
Honorable Mayor and Council
Frank Garner, Chief of Police
1ST Alley West Ordinance
MEETING DATE: March 6, 2000
BACKGROUND: The current use of 1" Alley West (the alley between Main Street and V
Avenue West) does not coincide with the current ordinance language for that alley. The use was
changed approximately 15 years ago to accommodate a parking lot in the 00 hundred block and a
parking lot in the 200 block of 1st Alley West.
The ordinance provides for one-way traffic, south bound, in the alley. The use was changed
administratively to allow for two-way traffic on the north end of the 00 hundred block of 1st Alley
West and two-way traffic on the south end of the 200 block of 1st Alley West. There was no
corresponding change in the ordinance. This language change in the ordinance will constructively
change the ordinance to fit the current use.
RECOMMENDATION: A motion to adopt City Ordinance 13-48 as amended on second
reading is in order and the single word change as recommended by Councilman Van Natta has
been added.
FISCAL EFFECTS: None
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Council.
Respectfully Submitted,
Frank/ Garner
Chief of Police
