Boharski, Mayor City Council Members FROM: Michael Baker, Parks Director RE: May Activity Report DATE: May 31, 2000 iParks & Recreation Highlights: • New fences at the Rose & Formal Gardens - Woodland Park; • Park & Recreation Program startup in full -swing Parks Department - Ken Bauska, Foreman: Maintenance Tasks: • remove garden fences at Rose and Formal Gardens, Woodland Park; daily rest room and pavilion cleaning and garbage removal. Seasonal Maintenance: • Mow and weedwhip all City Parks; • repair and maintenance at Bruckhauser Pool to open; • continue irrigation startup and repair; • till all garden beds and plant annual flowers; • spray herbicides Lawrence Park, Depot Park, Woodland, Thompson, Heritage, O'Neil, KYAC; • add ballfield mix to KYAC; • place picnic tables around various parks; • Home run fences installed; i Urban Forestry - Michael Baker, Urban Forester: • various work order requests for new tree inspections, dead tree removals and low limbs; • assist Kidsports in planting 43 trees at KYAC Page 2 Recreation Depart. - C. Design for Phase II North Main/Lawrence Park approved by MDT, Bridge Design underway. Environmental review continuing. (relocated site for river crossing). River easement completed. Cultural review scheduled. 2. Meridian Trail Connector/Highway 93 to KYAC Trail, approved by MDT. Consultant selection process starting. DBE is set at 0%. 3. Meridian Road received final reimbursement - closed project out. • Airport Advisory Board: Awaiting results of F.A.A. Airport Study. Compiling airport revenue projections and meetings with City Hall, Council, Advisory Board, for consensus. Progressing billing continues. Drafting environmental assessment RFP.
