SUBJECT FRDO Fiscal Year 2000/2001 Annual Work Program
MEETING DATE: June 5, 2000
BACKGROUND: This is a recommendation from the Kalispell Planning Board on a
work program for the Kalispell planning jurisdiction for the fiscal year 2000/ 2001.
Each year the planning board makes a recommendation to the council on projects for
the upcoming year. Attached is a transmittal letter from the planning board outlining
those recommended projects for the staff and planning board to work on.
RECOMMENDATION: Adopt the planning board's recommendation for the FRDO
work program for fiscal year 2000/2001.
FISCAL EFFECTS: None.
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the city council.

Re: FRDO Fiscal Year 2000 / 2001 Kalispell Work Program
Dear Chris:
At the May 9, 2000 meeting the Kalispell Planning Board considered a work program
for the Kalispell planning jurisdiction for the fiscal year 2000 / 2001. The planning
board noted that the Growth Policy Plan may be returned to the board for further
consideration and possible revisions, which would take a fair portion of their time. A
motion was made and passed on a vote of seven in favor and one opposed to the
following work agenda in order of priority:
1. Continue on the update of the Kalispell City -County Growth Policy Plan.
2. To examine a policy for parcels split by zoning boundaries and a waiver of fees for
those lots.
3. Develop a plan and timeframe for the annexation of areas outside the city limits
currently receiving City services.
4. Address "development issues," i.e. development on State Lands property, mall
development and Highway 93 south utilities development.
5. Revisit the Kalispell Bike and Pedestrian plan as part of the growth policy update
document.
6. General "housekeeping" amendments to the Kalispell Zoning Ordinance
