Kukulski, City Manager Resolution to submit a CDBG Economic Development Grant Application June 5, 2000 BACKGROUND: Per the Montana Department of Commerce grant criteria, it is necessary for the City Council to authorize by Resolution the submittal of a CDBG Economic Development grant application for training dollars on behalf of Stream International Services Corp. Three public hearings have been held to date regarding the need for this grant application, and now the resolution for submittal is just a formality. RECOMMENDATION: The City Council authorize the City Manager to sign and submit the Economic Development grant application. FISCAL IMPACT: $400,000 in employee training dollars will be available to Stream on behalf of the employees at the new Kalispell site. ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by council. Kukulski, City Manager RESOLUTION NO. 4559 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN APPLICATION TO THE MONTANA DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE FOR A COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT TO PROVIDE EMPLOYEE TRAINING DOLLARS FOR STREAM INTERNATIONAL SERVICES. WHEREAS, the City of Kalispell is applying to the Montana Department of Commerce for a Community Development Block Grant to provide employee training dollars for Stream International Services Corp.'s Kalispell, Montana's operational site; and WHEREAS, the City of Kalispell has the legal jurisdiction and authority to transfer grant funds to Stream International Services Corp. for employee training; and NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. That the City of Kalispell agrees to conform with the regulations, statutes, terms and conditions described in the CDBG Certifications for Application. SECTION II. That the City Manager is authorized to submit, on behalf of the City of Kalispell, the CDBG Grant Application to the Montana Department of Commerce and to provide such other additional information as may be required.
