ACTIVITY REPORT

Parks & Recreation Highlights:
• Steady flow of 500+ patrons for daily open swim during
this hot spell;
• catch and clip Black Swan Cygnets;
• Spray Knapp Weed Herbicide at Lawrence Park, Buffalo Golf
Course, boulevards, First City Dump site on Willow Glen
(in conjunction with Flathead County Parks);
• Daley Fields: remove fences, etc. to relocate; level
fields.
• Preparing Soccer fields for their move to KYAC;
Parks Department - Ken Bauska, Foreman:
Maintenance Tasks:
• tear down fence, backstop nets, dugout and bleachers at Daley
Fields;
• daily: 13 rest room cleaning
7 pavilion cleaning
31 garbage can cleaning
Seasonal Maintenance:
• Irrigate 126 acres: KYAC, Lawrence, Washington, Archie Roe,
Greenbrair, Bruckhauser Pool, Woodland, Lions,
Depot, Northridge, Thompson, Hawthorn, Etc.;
• Mow/weedeat 396 acres: 30 City Parks;
• Flower beds - 22 - City Hall, Depot, Woodland & Lawrence
Downtown Pots - 15: water, weed, fertilize and spray914;
• Inspect/repair 11 playground units in City Parks;
0 groom Depot Park for concerts two times a week;

KYAC, Lions;
haul and place picnic tables for craft shows;

Hwy 93 North - remove dead trees, mow and clean;

ISTEA:
1. Design for Phase II North Main/Lawrence Park approved by
MDT, final Bridge design done. Environmental review
continuing. (relocated site for river crossing) . River
easement completed. Cultural review scheduled. Design
of bridge abatement and GeoTec work in progress.
2. Meridian Trail Connector/Highway 93 to KYAC Trail,
approved by MDT. Consultant selection complete. DBE is
set at 0%. Contracts to be signed.
3. Meridian Road received final reimbursement - closed
project out.
Airport Advisory Board: Awaiting results of F.A.A. Airport
Study. Compiling airport revenue projections and meetings
with City Hall, Council, Advisory Board, for consensus.
Progressing billing continues. Completed environmental
assessment RFP. Developing specifications for leasing
selected parcels.
