Storm Sewer Maintenance assessments
August 7, 2000
BACKGROUND: The resolution is adopted annually to provide a levy to fund the cost
of 1) storm sewer maintenance and 2) debt service for the sewer
revenue bonds associated with storm debt. The assessments are per
square foot of property in the City at rates determined by the type
and use of property. The four rates are as follows:
Type 1 $.0013735 Type 2 $.002747
Type 3 $.004121 Type 4 $.005494
Specific assessments are applied by the public works department.
There are no changes in the assessment rates this year.
RECOMMENDATION: Adoption of resolution establishing the assessments.
FISCAL EFFECTS: The City anticipates receiving $251,927 in revenue to be used for the
costs associated with the Storm Sewer Fund.
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by Council.

A RESOLUTION LKVYING ASSESSMENTS FOR THE COST OF STORM SEI
MAINTENANCE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2000-2001.
WHEREAS, the assessment cost of the Storm Sewer Maintenance
District for the fiscal year 2000-2001 is estimated to be
$257,927.00, and
WHEREAS, at a public hearing held on the 17th day of July, 2000,
the City Council did consider all objections made to said
estimate and to the basis of levy and assessment for
payment for said cost.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 01
KALISPELL, MONTANA:
SECTION I. That a tax be levied for the assessment cos
or $251,927.00 be in the amounts set opposite t
description of each lot or parcel of land, as shown
the special assessment lists on file in the office of t
City Finance Director. I
SECTION II. The amount of said tax shall be levied
proportionately on an area basis in an amount per square
foot of lot or parcel of land within the district except
public streets or rights of way:
