Decorative Light Maintenance assessments

BACKGROUND: The resolution is adopted annually to provide a levy to fund the cost
of maintenance and electricity for Decorative light in the Downtown
light district. Lighting assessments are charged at 1.00 per front foot.
There is no change in the assessment rate this year.
RECOMMENDATION: Adoption of resolution establishing the assessments.
FISCAL EFFECTS: The City anticipates receiving $4,344 in revenue to be used for the
costs associated with Decorative Light Maintenance.
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by Council.

A RESOLUTION LEVYING AN ASSESSMENT FOR THE COST OF LIGHTING Te-�--
STREETS IN THE CITY DOWNTOWN DECORATIVE LIGHTING DISTRICT FOR
FISCAL YEAR 2000-2001.
WHEREAS, the assessment cost of the Downtown Decorative Lighting
District for the fiscal year 2000-2001 is estimated to be
$4,344.00, and
WHEREAS, at a public hearing held on the 17th day of July, 2000,
the City Council did consider all objections made to said
estimate and to the basis of levy and assessment for
payment for said cost.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED Bl' THE CIT-1 COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
KALISPELL, MONTANA:
SECTION I. That a tax be levied for the assessment cost,
or $4,344.00, be in the amounts set opposite the
description of each lot or parcel of land, as shown by
the special assessment lists on file in the office of the
City Finance Director.
SECTION II. The amount of said tax shall be levied
proportionately on a front foot basis in the amount of
per front foot of lot or parcel of land within the
district except public streets or rights of way.

THE CITY OF KALISPELL, THIS 7TH DAY OF AUGUST, 2000.
